This is God's Business.

Our Mission & Vision

God Opening Doors (G.O.D) is committed to providing hope to the most impoverished segments of Haiti’s population by improving their quality of life through education, the promotion of self-sustainability and creating lasting relationships.

We believe education is at the foundation of success because it offers hope, empowers and can transform lives. With the proper education and resources, Haitians will be empowered to change their own lives and communities.

Haiti has been plagued by natural disaster, political unrest, poor health resources and an almost non-existent education system for much of its history. Haiti’s literacy rate is just above 50% compared to the 90% average of its Latin American and Caribbean counterparts. Education is not a priority when you are living on only $2 or sometimes $1 a day.

G.O.D believes poverty can be eradicated through education.

Our Values

Education

G.O.D believes that education provides hope and will be fundamental in the improvement of Haitian lives.

Education can be provided to Haitians in four forms; spiritual (spiritual guidance via church, biblical teaching, community building through small groups, and spiritual mentorship), academic (teaching of basic to advanced skills, Haitian history and English language), trade (training and exposure to various trades that generate income) and health (medical training, practices for overall well-being and guidance on specific health issues).

Self-Sustainability

G.O.D believes self-sustainability can be achieved through quality training of Haitians for various trades.

Having experts of various fields thoroughly train and expand the knowledge of Haitians in specific sectors will help in developing self-sustainability in Haitian communities. Aiding (fully involved) Haitians in the development of sound infrastructure and training them on best use and upkeep of resources is a means to bolster sustainability. This approach will equip them with knowledge they can use in future and pass on to other generations.

Mentorship

G.O.D believes that staff members and volunteers can produce lasting, mutually beneficial friendships by keeping in consistent contact and providing guidance to Haitian citizens participating in our programs.

A focal point of G.O.D will be not to just equip Haitians with the tools and knowledge they need but to also track their progress and be a reliant support system. Supportive resources will be offered such as self-empowerment via motivational speaking, seminars, conferences and virtual/in-person Q&A).

Every donation, whether big or small, helps us to rehabilitate Haiti, one mind at a time.
